YES THAT FAIR WITH THE NAKED ESTONIANS IN THE SAUNA ... I WAS THERE ...  WITH BOLTAX GALLERY IN FORM OF CANVAS AND PERSON AT BOOTH 8 FOUNTAIN MIAMI, 2505 NORTH MIAMI AVE, MIAMI, FL, ART BASEL MIAMI BABY (12.3-12.6)

 

THIS SHOW WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC OF NYC THRU 11.7
 

This one's called "Sue, Displaced Farmer's Daughter", well, until the opening it did. A five year old girl came up to me at the opening, insisting she must be an Elizabeth and not a Sue.  She also wants to recreate the show and do a better job of it in crayon - YAY!!

IN AUGUST I HAD A SOLO SHOW AT Boltax Gallery, a fine venue on Shelter Island: www.boltaxgallery.com. The show's title was 'Inappropriately Dressed'.

 

Postpartum Bridge Art Fair

Well ... I think nobody did too well at any of the art fairs, but I also brought giant canvases not desperate to sell, but to sort of get my color scheme out there and burnt onto the retina of the collective conscience ... still ahve to see if that worked - next up is the gwob launching later on in March 2009.

Join me at Bridge Art Fair at The Waterfront: 222 12th Ave, NYC ... on the edge of the Chelsea moloch  ... my booth is #36 and I'll be trying to cram my giant canvases into a teeny tiny booth.

JANUARY 30TH, 2010: This show opened Wednesday February 3rd. I tried my luck and found two original Freedom Riders (thank you google), whom I visited and really got so much insight from. They are two great men, each with their very own motivation and experience. Civil Rights is something really personal, when you get a feel of it up close. Both are depicted in the 1961 series (PREVIEW) I also included collage material of theirs into their images. After a few all nighters, the show now hangs (thanks Nyeema!!) in the president's hall

JANUARY 9TH 2010:

I'm back in the studio and getting ready for the next show opening Feb 3rd. Here's some work in progress. I started the series last year (electrified by the elections) with 14 pieces ... now there will be over 30 and some heads will be as large as 6' high by 4' wide ... Still hunting for collage ... Something to make it tactile ... I'll put a link up to the fresh work in a few days ...
